On Friday I am taking Twister to PetCo to meet his probable new "sister"!
I will be sure to post updates and information in my new blog "Fostering for PLR". I decided to begin a new blog, in order to encompass all of the fosters that I will have over time. This will mean that I don't have to create a new blog for EACH dog. And while I'm sure they each deserve their own blog, I don't want traffic to skip any particular animal because a link wasn't up to date.
In the mean time, please be sure to check out PittyLoveRescue.org to see all of the animals that are available, and the success stories of the pets that now have forever homes!

Mabel Update
We made a cast of Mabel's paw before she left. The colored stones glow in the dark. It has her name, and " '11 "at the bottom (The words are hard to read in the picture).
I received an E-mail update from Jen at Pitty Love Rescue.
I'm very excited for her :). We are going to be getting a new foster, hopefully next week. I believe it will be Lilly. Jen will bring her over for a visit to be sure she gets on with Twister.
I will be creating a new blog, or possibly changing the name of this one, so that it will encompass all our future fosters, so keep an eye out fur updates!

Mabel's Last Day
Mabel has a new home with James and Family. She will be leaving this afternoon with Jenn from Pitty Love Rescue.
Some of you may remember that James was the first person I brought Mabel to have a meet and greet with at Petco. His girls both loved her and were very comfortable, and I believe he said that he has about 5 acres for her to run and play in.
It's a bittersweet day here in our house. I'm so happy for Mabel, but we will miss her dearly! I have made a paw print patio stone with her, and also a paw print that hangs on the fridge!
I will keep updating Mabel's blog whenever I have updates, and as soon as we get a new foster, I will be starting a new blog especially for them!

Pool Fun!
Because of this dreadful heat, Poor Mabel and Twister have been eating ice cubes non-stop. LOL Our ice maker is nearly emptyy every day, so Christopher decided to get them a Kid Pool.

Another Meet and Greet
On Friday, Mabel and I went o the Greece, NY PetCo store for a Pitty Love Adoption Meet and Greet. Mabel spent the time with a lovely couple who has been approved for adoption. (I'm sorry I don't remember their names)
She really enjoyed their company. They walked around the store together nearly the entire time, and when Mabel saw me, she did not immediately want to come to me. I took that as a sign that she really liked them.
I learned that they live in/near Syracuse, very close to a large park in Onondaga (I hope I spelled that right). And they are looking for a dog that they can take with them when they go to outdoor events.
I think Mabel would be a good match for them, just by the way I saw her respond to them.
We're hoping to hear something soon!

Big Ol' Scaredy Cat
LOL I just had to mention that poor Mabel is apparently frightened of yellow ribbons!
You know the kind that are hung across driveways when they are sealed? As we were going for a nice long walk this afternoon, we happened to pass a driveway that must have been done a few weeks ago. There was only one steak at the end, and the ribbon was just sort of flapping around in the breeze.
Mabel had just got done sniffing a giant pine tree, and finally decided to pay attention to the rest of the world when a breeze kicked up and the ribbon fluttered. Whoo Boy! If she could have jumped into my arms she would have.
I actually had to get down on my knees, and hold the ribbon for her to sniff it, to see it was ok.
As for her walk, Mabel did awesome on a long walk without Twister. She didn't have any issues with feeling the need to protect "the baby" from blowing leaves, or cats on someone else's porch. She was very well behaved. But she is also a great Foster Momma to Twister!

Oh that's great! Looks like we will have a FEW people interested in her because we are doing a home visit this weekend for someone and James is asking about moving forward. We of course will find the best fit but it all looks promising for this sweet girl!
